The GOATED Day 4 Blog
Day Négy (4 in Hungarian)!
We finally saw the sun for the first time since arriving on Sunday afternoon, and for some of us, it's the first time seeing the sun at all! We are all starting to settle into routines, and bringing activities from back home to Budapest, whether it be running, lifting, swimming, or any other. This picture was taken by Alex, coming back from the gym this morning.
Another day another dolla, but dolla is actually math class. Today we reviewed our work from yesterday's class, and expanded upon the Euclidean Algorithm and Diophantine Equations.
One topic that was consistent throughout the day was Kemble's purple pants; being discussed at breakfast, in math class, in Hungarian class, as well as in office hours at the end of the day. The conclusion reached is that they are in fact purple, and they look good. But we want your opinion, comment below what color you think his pants are!
Today was our last Hungarian class for the next two weeks, and Emese had us practice asking and answering questions. After that, we performed some short skits with our tables, where we not only got more comfortable with speaking, but expanded our vocabulary a bit! To end things off, Emese tasked us with practicing our speaking skills and being able to order from a Restaurant in Hungarian before our next class in week three.
Several of us ventured on over to the Buda side today to explore and eat dinner! The general consensus was that the Buda side was much quieter than the Pest side! But, it was fun to see another part of the city, and see the Pest side from a new perspective!
On January 8, at around 18:00 hours. Individuals identified as Kaylin, Savannah, Henry, and Nicholas accompanied Professor Berliner and an individual known as “Uncle Jerry” to a restaurant selected by Emese. When questioned regarding the details of the location, Nicholas said, “I have no idea where the hell we were.” Subsequent inquiry allowed investigators to determine the restaurant’s identity and location. It was found to be at Cafe Vian, located on the Pest side of Budapest. Can you find Shaggy's look-alike in the picture below? Comment below if you found him!
Yum, Scrumptious!
To finish off the day, we had office hours! YAYYYY!!! We love math homework! There were also some savory and sweet Hungarian snacks to bribe us to go, j.k. we're good students, we don't need to be bribed.

Pants are purple Shaggy is in upper left of the picture and I mourn the death of the snowmen. Hope all continue to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity…. maybe learn a little math as well
