Day 21: Sunday Shenanigans

The sunrise yesterday ushered in our final Sunday in Budapest, and the very last day of weekend we'll have here. The day started bright and early for Emily, Collin, and Gordie, who went on a short run to Buda Castle on the other side of the river. We couldn't really see the sunrise because it was foggy, but it was a beautiful view nonetheless!

After breakfast, many people ventured out to the thermal baths, which was so relaxing that Alex and Dan fell asleep.

Others searched for the communist statues or went to see St Stephen's Basilica.

After a short mid-afternoon office hour (singular), Erika, Grace, Elizabeth, Savannah, Noah, and Henry left to watch the Ferencváros (Budapest) vs ETO Gyor (Gyor) soccer game as a part of their cultural project. Emese's son had to help them find tickets since they're in high demand, especially for Ferencváros. The rivalry between Ferencváros and ETO Gyor is so intense that they had to separate the home and away fans with a cage! ETO Gyor won 3-1.

Some of those who didn't go to the soccer game went to dinner at an Italian restaurant instead, followed by yet another round of chimney cakes. They were delicious!

The night ended with another round of office hours as we all waited with bated breath for our final double math day.
